My heart thumped loudly and the pain in my head was razor sharp.
I walked faster trying to block it out but still I could hear the taunts from behind me.
It was the end of the school day and although the sun was shining, it felt like there was a dark heavy cloud all around me.
I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want them or Mum to know I’d heard. She didn’t visibly react but I could feel her embarrassment and self loathing like it was my own.
Although I was still young I knew then and there I wanted to do something to fix this, but what exactly and how I didn’t know yet.
Now many years later, inspired by Mum and that memory, I’ve created a space to help women who struggle with self worth.
Today I run Celebration Photo Sessions designed so women can start to see themselves in a different way; the way I see them and the way their loved ones see them.
And slowly, one woman at a time, I’m encouraging them to feel proud and confident and powerful in their own skin.
I show them that self worth is not how others see them or talk about them, but rather it’s about what they see when they look in the mirror or at a photograph of themselves.
Starting today I invite you to look at yourself in the mirror, at least once every day, and say something kind to yourself because you are worth it. If you struggle with what to say let me know and I’ll send you a personal affirmation to put you on the right track.
And if you’re ready for more book a free chat with me and lets talk about a Celebration Session that’s all about YOU.
